Scott graduated from the University of San Diego with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. The very next week, he started what would go on to be ten years with PricewaterhouseCoopers’ (PwC) tax group. At PwC he helped some of the firm’s most high-profile Fortune 100 clients through complex federal, state, and international tax issues. Scott was selected to participate in a two year tour of duty with PwC’s Washington National Tax Services group, which coincided with the enactment of 2017 tax reform. During this time, he was focused identifying opportunities for the firm’s clients to proactively capitalize on different aspects of tax reform, saving them millions of dollars through accounting method changes and other tax planning strategies. After this tour, Scott joined PwC’s private company services group, where he focused on providing tax and accounting services to family-owned and other privately-held companies at various stages of their life-cycles. During this time, he was able to offer end-to-end tax services from tax planning to compliance, controversy management, and mergers & acquisition support, effectively serving as his clients’ tax department. Scott enjoyed being in this more hands-on role, which is what ultimately led him to joining the team in November 2021. Scott now focuses on helping clients through transactions such as acquisitions, mergers, and restructuring, with an emphasis on maximizing after-tax value for stakeholders - it's not just what you make, but what you keep!
When Scott isn’t working in excel spreadsheets, he can be found enjoying sunny days fishing on the south shore or wine tasting on the North fork with his family.
